About Matthew “Matt” Lognion

Matt Lognion Attorney at Law

A native and life-long resident of Lake Charles, Matt attended LaGrange Senior High School and after graduating cum laude in 2006 went on to attend McNeese State University where he majored in History with a minor in English/Literature. While at McNeese, he was a dedicated member of McNeese’s band program, and became actively involved in various other student organizations on campus. He graduated summa cum laude (3.95 GPA) in 2010, and began law school the following year at the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University. In law school Matt was a member of the Phillip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition Team and served as a research assistant to Prof. Paul R. Baier. He graduated cum laude in 2014 and returned home to serve a one year term as a Judicial Clerk to Magistrate Judge Kathleen Kay in the Lake Charles Division of the U.S. District Court, Western District of Louisiana. Thereafter, in September of 2015, he entered private practice a member of the litigation team at the law firm of Robichaux, Mize, Wadsack, Richardson & Watson, LLC.

Matthew E. Lognion’s Background

Matt is admitted to practice in the state courts of Louisiana and in the U.S. District Courts for the Western District of Louisiana. He is a proud member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Southwest Louisiana Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Louisiana Association for Justice, and the American Association for Justice. While he primarily practices in personal injury, Matt also has experience with commercial and business law, energy, oil and gas law, property law, and successions, wills, and trusts.

With deep family roots in both Calcasieu and Jefferson Davis Parishes, Matt proudly continues to call Southwest Louisiana home. He lives in Lake Charles with his wife Emily, a local music teacher, and their son David.
