Two-time DWI offender arrested again

A man is facing a driving a vehicle while intoxicated (DWI) charge after he was found passed out in a parking lot in the Lake Charles area, KPLC 7 reported on April 8.

The incident reportedly happened at about 2:30 a.m. on April 3 when authorities discovered an occupied vehicle in the parking lot with its engine still running. Spokeswoman for the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, Kim Myers stated that deputies found Hayes resident Michael Thomas sleeping inside his car. Thomas, 29, was taken into custody after admitting that he drove his vehicle while drunk to a local bar. He was also charged with driving a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license from a previous DWI arrest. Thomas was released after posting a $12,500 bond. This is his third DWI arrest in ten years.
