Motorcyclist killed in Louisiana head-on accident

State authorities in Louisiana confirmed that a motorcyclist was killed in a recent three-vehicle accident, a September 22 article from KPLC 7 reported.

Reports said that on September 21, the motorcyclist, identified as a 67-year-old New Mexico man, was on the southbound lane of Louisiana 378 when he was struck by a northbound vehicle that crossed the other lane. The vehicle driver, identified as Tracy Jones, initially had a collision with another vehicle in the opposite lane before hitting the motorcycle. Troop D spokesman Sergeant James Anderson confirmed that the motorcyclist died from the injuries he sustained in the crash. Appropriate charges were later filed against Jones. According to reports, at least five of the 23 road accident deaths that Troop D has investigated this year were motorcyclists.
