3 persons injured in Lake Charles 18-wheeler accident

At least three people, including a pregnant woman, were rushed to the hospital following an eight-vehicle accident caused by an 18-wheeler in Lake Charles.

Just before 2 p.m. on April 27, an 18-wheeler and another vehicle caught fire after a collision on the westbound lane of I-10 between Enterprise Boulevard and Ryan Street. Dale Carson, a passerby who was in the area after the accident, immediately called 911 and helped persons who were trapped to exit their vehicles. Carson escaped with only a few minor cuts, but the condition of the three persons hospitalized is still unknown. Reports later revealed that Carson has served in the U.S. Army for 17 years.
