A boater was killed on July 31 in a boating accident that took place near Grand Isle in Louisiana, an article of nola.com reported.
Reports coming from the state’s Wildlife and Fisheries agents said that around 1:00 a.m. Metairie resident Robert Sims, 44, hit his head on a piling while traveling in his 28-foot boat through Caminada Pass. Sims was on his way to Port Fourchon when he struck his head after leaning out of the boat in order to serve as lookout. Authorities noted that Sims’ boat was traveling at a high speed when the accident happened. Sims’ death was one of three fatalities reported on southeast Louisiana waters that day.
