According to reports, the three-vehicle accident on August 22 happened on U.S. 61 in the vicinity of LA 626. An ambulance of St. Charles Parish Hospital reportedly veered to the left side of the road after striking a vehicle. The impact of the initial collision ended up involving a third vehicle, driven by Marva Jackson, 62. Police told reports that Marva’s vehicle caught fire and she succumbed to her injuries while being treated. She had not been wearing a seatbelt. The ambulance’s sirens and emergency lights were activated and it was believed to be responding to a call when the accident happened. Authorities are still investigating the crash.
